Baseball Recap: Desert Mountain Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Desert Mountain came into Thursday's match having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the Arizona College Prep Knights 7-5. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Knights on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-7 defeat.

Davis Anderson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Cole Sonne was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Roman Carrington was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Desert Mountain's record now sits at 10-14. As for Arizona College Prep, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-8.

Coming up, Desert Mountain will challenge Campo Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Coyotes have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Arizona College Prep, they will face off against Notre Dame Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
