After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Louisville, Northwest was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 61-48 victory over the Canton South Wildcats. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Wildcats are ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Canton South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Coming up, Northwest won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Carrollton at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Canton South, they will take on Firelands in a tournament on February 21st.
