Basketball Game Preview: Pineywoods Community Academy Timberwolves vs. Pollok Central Bulldogs

Pineywoods Community Academy hasn't had much luck against Pollok Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pineywoods Community Academy Timberwolves will venture away from home to take on the Pollok Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Pineywoods Community Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Pineywoods Community Academy was fully in charge, breezing past Newton 56-27.

Meanwhile, Pollok Central hadn't done well against Woodville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Pollok Central took down Woodville 58-40.

Pollok Central's win came from a few key players Pineywoods Community Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wyatt Graham, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 17 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaynin Poage, who posted 11 points and five steals.

Pollok Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Pineywoods Community Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.

Pineywoods Community Academy came up short against Pollok Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 39-27. Can Pineywoods Community Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
