Softball Recap: Paxton-Buckley-Loda Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Paxton-Buckley-Loda came into Tuesday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Watseka Warriors on Tuesday as they made off with a 20-9 win. The Panthers' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Hallee Johnson was a standout: she scored four runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-6. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Devani McClatchey, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .488. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Watseka, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Paxton-Buckley-Loda will square off against Urbana at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Watseka, they will be playing at home against Westville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
