Northwood was handed a 30-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southwood Cowboys, sneaking past 45-42. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 63-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Southwood had strong showings from Lyquinton Pinkney, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards, and Eric Fuller, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Pinkney also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacobi Davis, who posted eight points.

Northwood's win bumped their record up to 12-20. As for Southwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwood will venture away from home to square off against Minden at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwood, they will head out on the road to challenge Booker T. Washington-Shreveport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
