Basketball Game Preview: Allen County-Scottsville Patriots vs. Logan County Cougars

The Allen County-Scottsville Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Logan County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Allen County-Scottsville ended up a good deal behind Warren East and lost 68-54. The Patriots have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Logan County). They came out on top against Russellville by a score of 69-59 on Thursday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Panthers are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Logan County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Allen County-Scottsville, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Allen County-Scottsville came up short against Logan County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 55-46. Can Allen County-Scottsville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
