Baseball Recap: Providence School Falls Short of Episcopal School of Jacksonville in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Providence School can now relate to. They fell just short of the Episcopal School of Jacksonville Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Stallions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 11-8.

Landis Pickett put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Pickett was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Providence School is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11. As for Episcopal School of Jacksonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Episcopal School of Jacksonville beat Providence School by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday.
