Basketball Recap: Taylor's Crossing's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Taylor's Crossing hadn't done well against Leadore recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Taylor's Crossing Eagles came out on top against the Leadore Mustangs by a score of 48-40. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dane Piippo, who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Piippo has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Porter Mayo, who scored nine points and seven steals.

Taylor's Crossing's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4. As for Leadore, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Taylor's Crossing didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-40 win against Alturas Prep on the 16th. As for Leadore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-46 victory against Grace Lutheran on the 16th.
