Two dominant signal callers in Wyatt Marsh and Elijah Edon are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Milan Indians will challenge the Eastern Hancock Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Milan put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-8 victory over Brown County. The win was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Milan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Beckett Langferman led the charge by rushing for 95 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Another receiver making a difference was Micah Norman, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Meanwhile, while Eastern Hancock put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Park Tudor. The Royals blew past the Panthers 52-0. Considering the Royals have won three contests by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Milan better keep an eye on Mark Kube. He was instrumental in Eastern Hancock's win, rushing for 107 yards and three scores on only 12 carries.
Eastern Hancock didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Park Tudor to a completion percentage of just 42.3%. The Royals have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.65 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.65 in their last three games.
Eastern Hancock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Evan Wheeler and Taylor Conley. Conley is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The victory got Eastern Hancock back to even at 3-3. As for Milan, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.
Milan was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern Hancock when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 8-0. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
