Davenport hasn't had much luck against Fredericksburg recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Davenport Wolves are taking a road trip to take on the Fredericksburg Billies at 1:00 p.m. Davenport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Davenport is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 22-2 margin over Navarro on Friday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
KINLEY Keller was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Addi Willis was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.
Davenport hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 17 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Fredericksburg never let their opponents score on Monday. They came out on top against Dripping Springs by a score of 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Billies.
Not much got past Ava Stuewe, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Dripping Springs off the board. Stuewe has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bella Findley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
Fredericksburg's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Davenport, their record now sits at 12-5-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Davenport hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Fredericksburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
