Soccer Game Preview: Flushing vs. Corunna

The Flushing Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Corunna Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Monday, Flushing didn't have quite enough to beat Goodrich and fell 2-1. The loss was Flushing's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Corunna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Fenton, falling 8-0. That's two games in a row now that Corunna have lost by exactly eight goals.

Corunna's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Flushing, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Flushing took their victory against Corunna in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
