Windermere Prep has gone a perfect 5-0 against Crooms Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lakers will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Windermere Prep has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Windermere Prep is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 3, 2025 on Monday. They came up short against Tohopekaliga, falling 15-5.
Windermere Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicolas Pe?a, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Crooms Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Circle Christian.
Caden Bachand put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Bachand was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Parker Buckley and Leland Smith did some serious damage despite the final result: Buckley went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Smith went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Smith has become a key player for Crooms Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Kameron Barnes also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Crooms Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Windermere Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Everything went Windermere Prep's way against Crooms Academy in their previous matchup back in February, as Windermere Prep made off with an 11-4 victory. Do the Lakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
