Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Roncalli

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Roncalli ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Two Rivers Purple Raiders. The win was familiar territory for the Jets, who have now won three matches in a row.

Ryan Cole was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Roncalli's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carter Kilbride, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Roncalli pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Two Rivers, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Roncalli will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Purple Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
