Baseball Recap: North Montgomery Triumphs

North Montgomery's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They never let the Southmont Mounties get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Chargin' Chargers in their matchups with the Mounties: they've now won five in a row.

Cade Cole made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Warren, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aiden Ambriz-Cruz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

North Montgomery always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southmont only posted an OBP of .158.

North Montgomery's record is now 8-2. As for Southmont, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

North Montgomery has already played their next match, a 10-9 loss against West Lafayette on the 28th. As for Southmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-4 defeat against Greencastle on the 28th.
