Softball Game Preview: Wilmot Panthers vs. Burlington Demons

The Wilmot Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Burlington Demons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Wilmot has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wilmot came up short against Union Grove on Friday, falling 14-4. The Panthers have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Wilmot saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lizzy Johnson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another was Payton Biddle, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Burlington lost 9-2 to Kettle Moraine on Saturday.

Burlington now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wilmot, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Wilmot couldn't quite get it done against Burlington when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
