Preview: Central Valley Warriors vs. Beaver Bobcats
Central Valley and Beaver are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Central Valley Warriors will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Beaver Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Central Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-41 victory over Blackhawk. Given Central Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Blackhawk is ranked 491st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beaver can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Hopewell 75-41 at home. The victory was just what Beaver needed coming off of a 88-38 defeat in their prior contest.
Brady Mayo was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with four steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Beaver's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Butler, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Central Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Beaver, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
