Basketball Recap: North Iredell Takes a Loss

North Iredell came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the North Lincoln Knights, falling 64-40. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Knights are ranked 42nd).

North Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ally Smith led the charge by going 8-for-18 on her way to 22 points along with five boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Black, who went 7-for-14 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds.

North Iredell's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for North Lincoln, the victory was the 24th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-1.

North Iredell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Lincoln, they will face off against East Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 24 contests.
