Basketball Game Preview: Napavine Tigers vs. Mossyrock Vikings

The Napavine Tigers will face off against the Mossyrock Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Napavine's favor as the team sits on 18 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mossyrock has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Napavine made easy work of Onalaska and carried off a 79-59 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-44, which was the final score in Mossyrock's tilt against Rainier on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 163rd).

Mossyrock's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Napavine, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Napavine against Mossyrock in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 71-29 victory. Will Napavine repeat their success, or does Mossyrock have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
