Basketball Recap: San Dieguito Academy Falls to Santana in First Game of Season + How To Watch

San Dieguito Academy kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Santana Sultans by a score of 58-56. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Leading Santana to victory were Daxton Burroughs and Will Wolchko. Burroughs shot 47% from the field on his way to 18 points and four steals, while Wolchko went 6-for-11 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds. Those 17 points gave Wolchko a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cruz Guidrey, who posted 11 points along with six boards and five steals.

Looking ahead, San Dieguito Academy will head out on the road to face off against Pacific Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santana, they will challenge Health Sciences at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
