Volleyball Recap: Fulton Comes Up Short

Fulton lost against Erie-Prophetstown on Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Steamers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. While the Steamers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-19 in the first set.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Fulton lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Kerby Germann paced Fulton's offense, picking up seven kills. Germann got some help from Zoe Kunau and her 12 assists. Belle Curley controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Fulton's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8. As for Erie-Prophetstown, they pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fulton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Eastland on the 7th. As for Erie-Prophetstown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hall on the 7th.
