Baseball Recap: Mississinewa Comes Up Short

Mississinewa extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-7. They fell 5-2 to the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Mississinewa saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Yoder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Alexandria-Monroe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Alexandria-Monroe's side, Will Rowland was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rowland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 games.

In other pitching news, Grayson Gaines looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Mason Fuller was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Fuller, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Mississinewa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-3 defeat against Madison-Grant on the 2nd. As for Alexandria-Monroe, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-1 victory against Tipton on the 1st.
