Basketball Recap: Middleton Gets the Win

The third road matchup was the charm for Middleton, as they earned their first road win of the season. They secured a 54-48 W over the Fayette Ware Wildcats on Tuesday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 56-53 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Fayette Ware lost, don't look at Ke'Miyah Buggs. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 boards. The game was Buggs' ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victory McKinnie, who posted ten points and three steals.

Middleton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Fayette Ware, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Middleton Tigers challenge the McNairy Central Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Fayette Ware, they will face off against Whitehaven at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fayette Ware is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
