Softball Game Preview: Northside Vikings vs. Franklin County Eagles

Northside hasn't had much luck against Franklin County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vikings will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Northside came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against William Byrd, falling 8-0.

Meanwhile, Franklin County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Cavaliers. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Franklin County's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Northside, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Northside couldn't quite get it done against Franklin County when the teams last played back in April as they fell 10-7. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
