Preview: Calumet New Tech Warriors vs. Hammond Morton Governors
The Calumet New Tech Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hammond Morton Governors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Calumet New Tech suffered a rough 66-45 defeat at the hands of Munster. While losing is never fun, Calumet New Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Munster is ranked 70th).
Eric Allen put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 15 points along with eight assists and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Derrick Santiago, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hammond Morton pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 75-65 to Griffith.
Calumet New Tech has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Hammond Morton, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
