Volleyball Recap: Rootstown Takes a Loss

Rootstown suffered their biggest loss since September 11th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Chagrin Falls Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.

Colbie Curall paced Rootstown's offense, picking up three kills. Curall got some help from Olivia O'Neill and her seven assists. Finally, Curall was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Rootstown has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Chagrin Falls, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Coincidentally, Rootstown and Chagrin Falls will both be playing Berkshire the next time they take the court. The Rovers will host the Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
