Football Recap: El Dorado Piles Up the Points Against Mayfair + How To Watch

After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, El Dorado brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Mayfair Monsoons 44-0. Given the Golden Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Monsoons are ranked 207th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

El Dorado's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Victoria Correa, who threw for 206 yards and four TDs while completing 71.9% of her passes. The Golden Hawks are undefeated when Correa posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Another rusher making a difference was Mikaila Mueller, who gained 79 total yards and two touchdowns.

El Dorado now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mayfair, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. El Dorado will face off against rival Aliso Niguel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Golden Hawks 8.3, the Wolverines 12.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Mayfair is set to square off against their familiar foe Capistrano Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
