Softball Recap: Ludlowe Falcons vs. Ridgefield Tigers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ludlowe had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ridgefield Tigers a 3-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Ludlowe sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Not much got past Alex Lewey, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Ridgefield off the board. Lewey has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 24 consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Ludlowe's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Angie Tavella, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Ludlowe is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Ridgefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-6.
