High Point had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over the Flowers Jaguars on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ramon Brito Jr made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brito Jr was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elinzon Ruiz, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Flowers' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
