Volleyball Recap: Lakeland Dreadnaughts vs. Lake Gibson Braves
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lakeland can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Gibson Braves on Thursday. The Dreadnaughts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Lakeland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.
When it comes to explaining why Lakeland lost, don't look at Megan Rine. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs. Rine is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.
Even though they lost, Lakeland kept the net locked down and finished the game with 12 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in August of 2023.
