Softball Game Preview: Bellaire Big Reds vs. Indian Creek Redskins

The Bellaire Big Reds are taking a road trip to take on the Indian Creek Redskins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bellaire came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Harrison Central, falling 9-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Big Reds were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Indian Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 20-9 to Edison. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Riley Sadler led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Dray, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Bellaire has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Indian Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Bellaire couldn't quite get it done against Indian Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Big Reds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
