Football Recap: Burroughs Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Burroughs had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Hesperia Scorpions, falling 40-14. While losing is never fun, the Burros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Scorpions are ranked 254th).

As for Hesperia, their record now sits at 5-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Hesperia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zamar Malveaux led the charge by rushing for 129 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. Da'Lon Williams was another key rusher, rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Burroughs will face off against rival Apple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hesperia is set to take on their familiar foe Serrano at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
