Kerman hadn't done well against Selma recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions skirted past the Bears 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since March 8th.

Eliza Garcia looked comfortable as she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jayanna Gonzales was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Sydney Yep was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Kerman's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Selma, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kerman will square off against rival Reedley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Selma is set to face off against their familiar foe Kingsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
