Volleyball Recap: Sacred Heart Academy Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Foran

Sacred Heart Academy faced Foran in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Sharks put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Sharks sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Sacred Heart Academy took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14, 25-9.

Sacred Heart Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JJ Kirck led the charge by getting 14 digs and two assists. Kirck has been hot, having posted 14 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Sacred Heart Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 20 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
