Basketball Recap: Oviedo Victorious

While Oviedo has struggled on the road with three straight losses, that wasn't the case on Tuesday thanks to Cameron Bryant. The Oviedo Lions took down the Altamonte Christian Eagles 58-42 thanks in part to Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Carter Oden, who went 6 for 10 en route to 13 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tre Jones, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Jones has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Almeda, who posted 13 points.

Oviedo's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Altamonte Christian, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Oviedo has already played their next match, a 75-17 victory against Lyman on the 15th. As for Altamonte Christian, they will square off against Ocoee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Altamonte Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
