Football Game Preview: Stevenson vs. Warren Township

Warren Township will take on Stevenson at home at 7:30 PM on Friday. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.

Warren Township might be getting used to good results now that the team have six wins in a row. They took their contest against Lake Zurich last Saturday by a conclusive 34-6 score. No one put up better numbers for Warren Township than senior Martin f. Walker ii, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Walker ii's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.

Meanwhile, Stevenson put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They took the match and then some with a 42-0 victory over Waukegan. The Stevenson offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-1. The Warren Township defense got after the quarterback against Lake Zurich to the tune of six sacks, so Stevenson's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the matchup.
