Giomar Conrad leads Penns Grove to victory over Woodstown

The Penns Grove Red Devils had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They rang in the new year with a 64-54 win over Woodstown on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given Penns Grove's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Woodstown is ranked 135th).
It was another big night for Giomar Conrad, who scored 23 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Penns Grove's points. Ka'Ron Ceaser was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Penns Grove's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Woodstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penns Grove will take on Overbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Woodstown won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Delsea at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. Delsea is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
