Volleyball Recap: Orcas Island Vikings vs. Granite Falls Tigers
After flying high against Mt. Baker last Saturday, Orcas Island came back down to earth. The Orcas Island Vikings took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Granite Falls Tigers on Monday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Orcas Island started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-11, 25-18, 25-11.
Orcas Island has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Granite Falls, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
