The biggest upset of the week belonged to Highlands, who took down 715th ranked Highlands, 16-14. Adam Sewell ran for 98 yards and caught one passes for 26 yards in the win.
Rio Vista was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to third in Sierra Delta. Earlier in the week, the Rams defeated San Juan 41-21.
The Scots' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Abalos threw for 66 yards and Greg Eason had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Abalos chipped in 128 yards. Abalos helped Highlands' passing attack out by catching five balls for 30 yards.
Bradshaw Christian's Kevin Williams and Luis Romero have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Williams has thrown for 657 yards this season, while Romero, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 18 catches for 273 yards. Rio Vista's Chace Marlowe leads the league in rushing yards with 1007.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Golden Sierra takes on Cliff Malta's team. The Grizzlies are in second place, while the Rams are in third place.
Golden Sierra moved up to 718 from 843 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Sierra Delta. John Hilton's team climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Highlands 16-14.
