Poplarville and D'Iberville are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Hornets will take on the Warriors in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Poplarville 2.8, D'Iberville 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Last Thursday, Poplarville came up short against Bay and fell 7-4.

Meanwhile, D'Iberville beat Gulfport 4-1 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Admirals: they've now won four in a row.

Emma Franklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, D'Iberville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emerson Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hall has posted since back in February. Another was Raegan Dellenger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Poplarville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8-1. As for D'Iberville, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Poplarville came out on top in a nail-biter against D'Iberville when the teams last played back in March of 2023, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
