The biggest upset of the week belonged to Westminster Academy, who took down 113th ranked Westminster Academy, 37-35.
The Crusaders' Luke Judice recorded the longest rushing play in 1A District 6 this season in his game against Pointe Coupee Central last week. Judice's team lost to the Cougars as he sprinted for 73 yards on the play and finished with 115 in all.
Connor Meche made the biggest impact on defense this week as Catholic of Pointe Coupee fell to Sacred Heart. The junior forced one fumble and racked up one sack.
Jonas Guichet put up the best numbers through the air as the Hornets lost to the Trojans. He finished with a total of 17 completions for 200 yards and one touchdown. Guichet's favorite target this week was Cornell Green, who caught seven passes for 112 yards.
Wesley Bellard was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 166 yards as Tommy Badon's team lost to Pointe Coupee Central.
Williams was the best wideout in the league this week as the Crusaders fell to Brian Glover's team. Williams racked up seven receptions for 129 yards. Hoyt Brignac helped Westminster Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
Westminster Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Crusaders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Judice has thrown for 789 yards and 35 touchdowns this season, while Williams has 27 catches for 434 yards. Judice also leads the league in rushing with 397 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Westminster Academy takes on North Central. The Crusaders' offense has scored 172 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Hurricanes have allowed only 184 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Opelousas Catholic takes on the Cougars. The Vikings are in first place, while Pointe Coupee Central is in sixth place.
The Cougars moved up to 152 from 193 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Pointe Coupee Central was able to make the jump by beating Westminster Academy 37-35.
