Softball Game Preview: Mountain View Eagles vs. Lakeland Chiefs

The Mountain View Eagles will head out to face off against the Lakeland Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Mountain View came up short against Hanover Area and fell 13-10.

Meanwhile, Lakeland didn't have quite enough to beat Montrose on Friday and fell 10-9. The loss was the Chiefs' first of the season.

Riley Arzie was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Cunningham, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Mountain View came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeland in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
