Hobbton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took down the West Columbus Vikings 42-28.

Hobbton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reginald Thompson, who rushed for 226 yards and four scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Thompson is now averaging an impressive 110.9 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Tate, who gained 277 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hobbton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 524 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Hobbton's defense stepped up as well, laying out DJ Graham three times. Leading the way was Javont'E Johnson with two sacks.

When it comes to explaining why West Columbus lost, don't look at Graham. Despite the final result, he rushed for 57 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt. 91 of those passing yards were hauled in by Santonio Vereen.

Hobbton's record now sits at 5-3. As for West Columbus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Hobbton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 20-7 victory against Lakewood on the 24th. As for West Columbus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-14 win against Green Sea Floyds on the 24th.
