Baseball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots by a score of 16-15. The Warriors have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

DJ Barth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brennan Howard, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Winfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Winfield will face off against Clopton at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, they will take on Chaminade at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. St. Louis HomeSchool P is facing Chaminade at the right time seeing as Chaminade is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
