Baseball Recap: Lake Weir Takes a Loss

Lake Weir and Vanguard squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Lake Weir had to settle for second. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Hurricanes haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Landen Courtney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Samuel Garcia also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lake Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Vanguard, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4.

Lake Weir does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vanguard, they will challenge Dunnellon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
