Football Recap: Whitwell Tigers vs. Oliver Springs Bobcats
Despite a strong season so far, Whitwell has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 29-28 to the Oliver Springs Bobcats. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.
Despite the loss, Whitwell still got an impressive performance from Brandon Easterly, who rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 117 yards and a touchdown. Easterly was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. They'll take on Chattanooga Prep at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th. After each having a week off, Oliver Springs and Coalfield will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 24th. Oliver Springs is on a three-game streak of home wins, Coalfield a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
