Baseball Recap: Hanna Comes Up Short

Hanna came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Edinburg North Cougars by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Hanna saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Orlando Rico, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Aldo Navarro also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Even though they lost, Hanna hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburg North struck out eight times.

Hanna's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Edinburg North, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-15.

Hanna wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 loss against La Joya on the 18th. As for Edinburg North, they have also already played their next game, a 7-1 defeat against Hanna on the 20th.
