Rahmond Hamilton leads a balanced attack to beat Marion

Recap: Dillon Wildcats vs. Marion Swamp Foxes

After losing to the Marion Swamp Foxes the last time they met, the Dillon Wildcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Dillon pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over Marion. That's two games straight that Dillon has won by exactly a single point.

Dillon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rahmond Hamilton out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Hamilton is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shawn Samuel, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Marion lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gabriel Cusack, who scored 11 points along with five steals. The match was Cusack's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameir Legette, who scored ten points.

The victory makes it two in a row for Dillon and bumps their season record up to 2-1. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Dillon will head out on the road to face off against Conway at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Marion won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cane Bay at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Cane Bay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Marion is ranked 29th).
