Softball Preview: Shamokin Area Indians vs. Montoursville Warriors        
        
		
            
 Shamokin Area has been on the road for two straight, but  on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Montoursville Warriors at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  contest.
 Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought  game, but Shamokin Area had to settle for  a  5-4 loss against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional.
  EMMA KURTZ was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   eight  hits. KURTZ has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. KURTZ was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 KURTZ wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  AVA BONSHOCK, who  went 1-for-1 with two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Montoursville suffered a  rough 11-2 defeat at the hands of South Williamsport  on Saturday. The  loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Montoursville in their matchups with South Williamsport: they've now lost three in a row.
 Shamokin Area's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Montoursville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
 Shamokin Area came out on top in a nail-biter against Montoursville  when the teams last played  two weeks ago, sneaking past  10-9. Will Shamokin Area repeat their success,  or does  Montoursville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
