Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Providence Day

Providence Day extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Ginny Anne Dumont. The Providence Day Chargers claimed a resounding 60-33 win over the Charlotte Catholic Cougars thanks in part to Dumont, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten steals. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Audrey Glosson, who posted six points and three steals. Those three steals gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Charlotte Catholic had strong showings from Megan Shea, who put up eight points and ten rebounds, and Kailey Richard, who had 11 points. Shea has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played.

Providence Day pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Charlotte Catholic, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Providence Day will take on Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Charlotte Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-51 win against Providence on the 17th.
