Basketball Game Preview: Classical Academy Caimans vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays

Classical Academy and Coastal Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Caimans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Stingrays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Classical Academy turned things around against Bonsall on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Legionnaires 65-25. The Caimans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since December 4th (when they won 72-32).

Classical Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lawson Schreiner, who posted 15 points. Schreiner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Davis, who scored 13 points.

Meanwhile, Coastal Academy was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past Gompers Prep Academy 52-23. The Stingrays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Coastal Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Classical Academy strolled past Coastal Academy when the teams last played back in February by a score of 54-40. Will the Caimans repeat their success, or do the Stingrays have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
